View Full Version : One car, and one car only....

If you could have any car in the world, money no object what would it be?

Don't forget that Santa reads this forum, and you never know!

I'll start us off.

A Mclaren F1, Still the ultimate road car, not as fast as a Veyron, but a million times better looking.

Cheers

110 years of motoring development and you pick a tin box.

I give up :D

I think it would have to be a ferrari F40 for me  or failing that a 6R4 metro

Jezzer99
22nd December 2008, 09:12 PM
Tough one but I'd say the 911 GT2 (997 era if you know your 911 numbers) although bizarrely I do have a bit of a thing for the Range Rover Sport Supercharged HSE doo-dah thingy at the moment...

HI
Not to boverd about the big money cars. But i would like the MGB-Gt V8 back that some b@rsted nick about ten years age. LOVE THAT CAR.

Chris Gibbs
22nd December 2008, 09:27 PM
I despair!!

Blade likes the F40 (fair enough) but a Metro!!

(BTW which part of "One car and one car only" don't you understand? :) )

Then Jezzer does the same thing but picks a VW beetle coupe and an agricultural vehicle!

I can live with the Renown, bit pedestrian for me though.

Cheers

Chris :)

come on chris the metro is a classic, i once had a metro turbo that i did strange things with like drive it:eek:

Chris Gibbs
22nd December 2008, 09:54 PM
I used to have a Metro Turbo as well.

It was broken most of the time, usually the so called "engine steady" which did anything but. I was putting one on every time I got petrol, the guy in the stores used to say "another MG Metro Turbo engine steady is it?"

All metros are hateful, even ones with an XJ220 engine stuffed up their chuff!

Cheers

Chris :)

I sense that your not keen on metro's then :D

Lancia Delta Integrale EVOII, in white, on 17" Speedlines, Abarth cams etc etc.

That would do me, although rust may well put pay to any long term commitments :D

John

Cough... beetle... cough... wind up any current Porsche engine until the Variocams start to do their work and then smile... admitted the engine in the 911 is slightly in the wrong place...

I had an MG Metro once (not turbo) which was quite amusing.

I suppose there's an extension to this thread in terms of what you drive now and what was your favourite car ever that you've owned...

I'll assume that's only one interesting car - ok, my wife can have the estate.
I'll have a Jaguar D-type (or a Lynx replica).
If santa can't get me one of those, I'll have a caterham / lotus seven.
If I can't have one of those, then I'll have a Haynes roadster.

Hmm this is a hard one. There are several cars I really admire, ther Ferrari F40 and the 205 T16 are favourites for similar reasons. The Veyron is an awesome engineering feat, and the Ferarri FXX is stunning...

However (and I don't really know why) the car for me would have to be the Gemballa Mirage GT - their take on the Porsche Carrera GT. Stunning..

http://www.gemballa.co.uk/mirage.html

And you have no idea how long that decision took me....... :)

For me it would have to be a Lamborghini Murciélago. Had the pleasure of driving one round Thruxton a few years back. The best drive I have ever had, massive V12 purring behind you, gorgeous!!
