Spending ages putting trim on stuff at the moment. I am a bit stuck with how to cover the locknut on the top drop link. Also do I need to cover the cast flats on the track rod ends? Tempted to just grind them off!

Thanks for any advice anyone!

Ken, you can buy some large diameter heat shrink and cover them that way, or a lot of people on Locostbuilders use old bike inner tubes stretched over and cable tied on.

I bought some large plastic nut covers and chopped the top off. I cut down the side and these fitted really nicely around the nut.

For the track rod ends and the steering rack extensions I used electrical glands but furore kit cars sell them cheaply.

I used armoured gland boots to cover the rack extensions and top ball joint nut.
Mine came off the internet a lot cheaper than fueore. I googled something like replacement swa boots. They were also thicker and more rubbery than the screwfix ones. And much larger.

Trim wise I put it on most bits but if it can be touched by a 100mm sphere (large orange) it needs to have a radius on it.

Ken

I used cable glands on the rod ends the same as Dave.
The lockouts I used cut down motocross bike fork gaters cable tied on
