So iv sent my IVA papers of on Tuesday and had an Email this morning saying that they have received it and given me my REF number. So iv got a few things to finish of in the next 4-5 weeks before my test. Now iv got to start planning how I'm going to get the car to Cardiff (my nearest station). Do I drive it or do I trail it Bering in mind it is 90 mile there and 90 mile back and on the M4. Am I tempting fate if I drive it that fare for my first drive.

What is the most any of you guys have driven your cars to a test centre?

Trailer it or pick up,unless you can borrow trade plates and give it a good run.

I'm 65 miles each way, and yes a wee bit nervous, I did borrow the garage trade plates to take it there last weekend though and it appears ok, plan is to head off nice n early n take it easy . Insurance organised through footman james so i'm going for it :)

Its sensible if poss to give it a good "shake down" roadtest,if were to boil up or stop you would be up the creek with no propulsion.

i would make sure you have plenty tools, cable ties clips etc . better still gat the wife to follow and fill the car with all your spares. it would be murder to fail on something you could fix at the test station

haha that's a bit hard as my wife is in the states just now, but I know what you mean a couple of the westy guys are riding shotgun and taking tools etc, vosa lady said to take stuff with me to sort anything minor, although nothing loose in the car while it is being tested.
