personally i think it should say " look what you,ve bl##dy started Gibbsy "
or "its Gibbsy,s fault" lol :p

and so mr Fabby glass i,ll be down to see you on pay day then :D
you could always put the stripes in the gel for me :D

hi all.
can i ask what maybe a stupid question? ( if it is then apologies, had long day)
is that single seater to be allowed on the road, not just a track car?
i can see what looks like indicators on rear wheel arches.
if it is then can you imagine the reaction it would get on the road???:D :D
i might have a bit of that!
cheers

ah, now i,m in a pickle, do i go ahead & make my first cut of the steel to start my roadster build or wait till the single seater is available????
the problem is I want both but know i can,t afford both, what do i do? suggestions welcomed, this is my first build so would i be better to build the roadster then in few years build the single seater knowing i,ve gained the experience from building the roadster? HHMMM:confused:
would love to have both sat on the drive:D

cheers
andy
ps. i,m serious , should i build a roadster or wait for the single?

yep thats the idea thanks for the piccie i,ll get TJ to file it
it will definitely be something along those sort of lines (not a pun) any other suggestions or piccies welcomed

handyandy
oops what a dilemma you find yourself in !!!!!!
i dont have the answer for that question
but will you ever want to take a passenger in your pride and joy ????????
but i can tell you this i,ve seen the buck for the new car and it will look every bit as good as the book or maybe better fabby does know his stuff !!!
oh and i know how lights will happen on fabby tell him or can i now
yours and chris,s dark secret is out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cheers les g

cheers Les G, some good points you raise, as for taking a passenger, yeah of course i would, if only to show it off:D  but if there wasn,t a spare seat then they could watch from side of the road:D :D lol.
basically i,ve now gotta decide either 3 to 4k on a roadster or around 5k on the single seater.
my wife doesn,t drive so has no interest in driving my car, being totally honest with myself, this is "ME TOY", Mine , no kids , no mrs & no dogs (ahem, not the wife), i have a kitted out van for family & the dogs.
yeah i have no doubt about how good the single will look, whats attracting me to the single is there won,t be that many around, would like to be one of the first builders etc, i like the idea of the exclusivity(spelling??) of it, basically deep down i,m a show off,

Mark ?????

well handy andy
as they say the choice is yours
but i bet you change your mind again before long lol

personally i have zero interest in bikes at all !!!!
loud noisy thrashy unreliable not that great really
but time marches on
then a couple of weekends ago my mate pops round on his new toy a kwak ninja thing and says have a play with that
result the f##k##g thing is ballistic and then you start thinking i get it now
bec well maybe
but for me i would like a rear engine two seater bec something like ash g picked up a sylva riot iirc that sort of thing
just my preference but !!!!!!
all the best with your choice,s

cheers Les g, lol, it might be a case of pick the decision out of a hat???
i,m not indecisive.
i just don,t know what to do..... lol:D

l like bikes ( ex racer ) & understand why BEC, tho the single might look good with a v6, exhausts out of each side like a F1 of the era.

ho hum, think i,ll sleep on it.

cheers

The 5k was only a guess as some bike motors can cost a few quid, spend less on the motor and the build will be less...or use that VFR750 Andy as it's free:D

HandyAndy
21st January 2009, 09:46 AM
yeah thats what i,m thinking Mark, a V4 single seater sounds nice, & if the total vehicle weight is lower than a roadster then the vfr motor would,nt be TOO underpowered.
can i ask what the front nose options are like? without letting all the secrets out all at once,:D
without claiming poverty, lol. if i decided to go with single seater i could get all the running gear/engine ready before the book comes out, so wouldn,t feel the costs hit me all in one go.
i know its said the book comes out in 2010 but are we talking early/mid or late 2010?
as i,ve only spent money on build table & steel so far which will all keep then the single is looking as a VERY strong option.
cheers

Lighter by lots of lightness so the VFR will be more than enough to give you a good buzz even more so as you already have it...;)

Hi Andy.

If I can add my 2 penny worth to your dilemma.

I can understand you desire to be the first.
Not wanting to diss your ability,
but if you get stuck there won't be as many people to help you on the single seater.
The Roadster is a known quantity and all the bugs have been ironed out... Well most of them:D :D

thanks David, totally with you on that point & yes that had crossed my mind, no problem about saying "not to diss my ability", i understand where you,re coming from:cool:
i don,t wish to bore folk with my dilemma, (sorry) but glad the info of the single has come out now before i,m half way thru building a roadster.
smiles... a decision will be made soon.

thanks

now i just need the book. Chris any idea when it,ll be published in 2010?

That's what I thought too....but suppose as we have dimensions and need to build a demo car we get to have one before anyone else...

Pink with black rear wings...been called one so might as well look like one:D

ok thanks John & Chris, the sooner the better would be nice:D
at least i can now get things prepared & ready for the time the book comes out.
a question Chris, without asking for any "top secret" details do you think putting the vfr v4 motor in won,t cause any problems in the new chassis layout? as you,ve mentioned the prototype has an inline 4.

thanks

Solution ? slim down Roadster to same width as front frame, move seat back rails forward, shove feet through gearbox/engine hole fit pedals at front of course, make diff housing a little bit bigger and slide 20v turbo Audi/VW engine and box in behind the seat, mid engine and GLS ( go like stink )
Problem solved !

Flak awaited...
