Hi all,

I'm planning the build of my Roadster (finally) but I only have a very short period of time in which I can disassemble the donor vehicle (a Ford Sierra).

So I decided to make a list of all the parts I need from the Sierra. Now I have never built a roadster before so I don't have a clue what parts I need. I rather not find out that I missed a part after I ditched the remainings of the donor.

So I decided to read the book (which is absolutely brilliant Mr. Gibbs) and make a list of all Sierra parts I could find in it. Now I am almost certain I forgot something so please tell me if I did so I can add it to my list.

So here is the list that I already came up with (a ? means im not certain if it belongs in the list):

Spindles (I suppose you spell it like this, im no native speaker)
Brakes
Engine
Transmission
Rest of the driveline (diffs axles etc.)
Master Cylinder?
Steering Rack? (or is this to big)
Steering Shaft
Battery (assuming its in a good condition)
Wiring loom
Dash (for speedo, revs, etc)
Handbrake Assembly

Please bear in mind that this is only a list of parts from the Ford Sierra not any other parts involved in the build.

I don't care how silly the part is you name (even if its a single nut or bolt) it will be very apreciated.

Please be gentle on the grammar and spelling I am not a native english speaker.

Thanks in Advance

GSmits

Hi,

Thanks for the kind words about the book :)

Seems like you've got most of it, the steering rack can be shortened but It's not really a DIY prospect, the Escort rack is freely available.

I'd keep the steering wheel for the SVA test and the brake proportioning valve, which you may or may not need.

If I think of anything else I'll post it.

Cheers

Chris :)
