1.8 cvh, 89,000 miles, 6 months mot, mint condition, driven it 200 miles since i bought it... £275 quid :D starts and runs perfectly everytime, no smoke, no misfires.. brilliant.

Nice - similar to mine. It does seem almost criminal to break them - I bought mine from a couple who'd been using it as a daily driver and loved it. Felt terrible when they asked why I wanted it :)

I'm definitely going with the CVH to get the car on the road with and who knows from then!

He was devestated when my sadistic eldest son, sent him pictures of the car. Cut into about 8 pieces & piled up in my drive ready to load on the Tranny. :D :D

i've been wondering - should I really rip an almost perfect car to bits (considering its age), or should I restore it and then sell it as a classic in 10 years time? I've been looking for a donor for a good while, and they've all been much more expensive and in worse condition than this one - so I know how good a bargain I've managed to pick up.

never considered the reg plate as a spare! Cheers guys!

One guy has already bought the front seats, and a few others are interested in doorcards, wings etc... Do doors, bonnets and boots sell well if they're in good nick?

I wouldnt have any regrets braking a sierra.
I had a sierra saphire 2.0 dohc is good condition,
Horrible car, imo take the useful bits and build it into something decent...
They aint ever going to be a mk1 or 2 escort, bit like the austin maxi, it old enough to be a classic but no one really gives a ***t :)

That is what I said 25 years ago when I ripped out the engine out of a Ford Capri Exec. 3 litre Essex V6 jobby. :p

That was about 10 years after my mate took his Lotus Mk1 Cortina to the scrapyard. :eek:

Hindsight is great but not much use after the event. ;)

The Sierra panels may be worth selling if you can find a local buyer, still quite a few on the road.

I still wouldn't worry about it.
We're not talking about anything special with a basic sierra.

Capri V6 interesting car, fast and fun would always end up around the classic status, not worth mega buck though.
Lotus cortina, should have spotted that one in retrospect.

Sierra has no enduring features to make it a classic, if it had it would already be there alongside the mk2 golf gti or the pug 205, even the 4x4 (yes fabby) has faded alongside the xr4i, as they weren't that great in the first place.

Bog standard boring rep mobiles will never be worth much or highly desire xexcept by an elite group of "special" people. An older BMW 535 would be the exception.

Anyone would think I hate sierras and fords in general .... good job they made some useful parts. lol :)
