A city banker was touring the west country in his brand new Bentley convertable.
The sun was out, with the hood down & the wind in his hair he thought life was grand.
As he drove through a quaint village he came accross a small river crossing.
Not knowing how deep the water was he stopped the car.
He noticed the village idiot leaning against a fence, he said " Excuse me good fellow, how deep is that water "
The village idiot thought for a moment and said " I reckon that there water be about 3" deep my ansum "
The city gent said " Thank you very much young man " He then proceeded to cross the river.
As he drove accross the water got deeper & deeper. Finally it came over the side of the car & flooded the entire cockpit :eek: :eek:
The city gent climbed from the flooded car and waded back to the road. The village idiot was leaning against the fence with a stupid grin on his face.
The city gent said " You blithering fool, you told me that the water was only 3" deep "
The idiot said " Don't understand it me ansum, it do only come up to 3" on those ducks over there " :confused: :confused:
