A while ago i mentioned about updating my cosmo welder because I was not happy with what it was doing.

Problems

1. Constant wire feed isues ( birds nesting after feeder and jaming in hand set )

2. Speed control in a world of its own. ( cold start probs, sudden spikes when arc starts. )

3. Only having about 1.5 mtrs to play with.

it is only a sip/cosmo turbo 150 mig but i had to send it back 3 - 4 times when new because of silly little things going wrong on it. In the end I thought sod it ill sort it out my own way. First things first I took the welder to bits and found that the wire feed motor was driven by the main transformer and caused the wire to pulse on what ever im working on. i put another transformer in side to drive the the wire feed and a diffrent speed controller. also converted it to euro tourch mb15 and .6mm wire .

all seems well atm not 1 jam pulse and a constant wire feed now

Nice one :)

A true locoster in action, find a problem & find the solution

A Euro torch conversion is always worthwhile, it will transform even the most basic budget MIG welder ;) :)
