Hi Tony

As far as I know the Ford dipstick tube is just a tight press fit & is removeable

That said. I would personally leave it in place if at all possible, can be a bit of a bugger to re-secure. ;)

If you really got too.

Try to grip the lowest part of the tube with a small pair of slip-grips or the likes, take great care not to crush the tube.

Once griped, try to loosen by turning back & forth ( Some are tighter than others )

If you manage to get it moving, try to place a lever (Large flat screwdriver ) under the slip-grips & against the lower part of the block,
Gently lever upwards whilst working the tube side to side.
It'll soon work its way out.

The tube will need to be re-expanded a little before it is re fitted & a bit of locking compoud could be usefull.

Some blocks have an O ring in the dipstick hole . Not too sure about the Zetec block, best replace it if it has.

If it is very tight, you may find that it is not possible to remove without badly damaging the tube.
Best check with your Ford dealer if a new one is available before you start. ;)
