looks like you,ve got them in the correct for/aft position ok, so do you mean the width coverage?
what size tyres are you using? are they 195x15x6j ? if so then the front arch is designed to that spec of tyre .

also how close is the wing stay bar to the inside of the tyre? should be about 10mm from the tyre .

cheers

got about 10-15mm between the arch and tyre they just seem a bit on the small side

tyres are 195/50/15 and the wheels are 6.5inch wide

they are wide enough i just dont think they cover enough of the wheel surface front to back

when i last spoke to Fabby he said the front cycle wings were made to within SVA & IVA spec so should pass as long as the for/aft angle is correct, i believe the IVA has a special measuring gizmo to ensure the correct portion of the tyre area is covered, i read it in "Complete Kit Car" when they did an article of a Cobra going thru the new IVA test & it showed a pic of the gizmo for the measurement,
If it helps, i know Spud,s car passed SVA with the same cyle wings as yours & mine for that matter :D

ps, have a look on the Saturn web site at Spuds car

found this in the iva manual

1.
The vehicle must be fitted with wheel guards
2.
The wheel guard must extend at least 30 degrees from the centre of the wheel to the front (figure 1)
3.
The wheel guard must extend at least 50 degrees from the centre of the wheel to the rear (figure 1)
4.
The wheel guard must cover the full breadth of the tyre throughout the required dimensions (see note 2 & figure 1)
5.
The rear of the wheel guard must not terminate above a horizontal plane of 150mm above the wheel centre.

will have a measure up tomorrow

I must be honest, when I first saw them I thought they looked a bit short.
It may pass IVA but you will be wearing anything thrown up by the tyre..

Mine are a lot longer, and I'm fitting bike mudflaps to stop things being thrown up.

Look about right to me but then the SVA/IVA is like the MOT where the tester on the day is the deciding factor. Some folk get thru some don't using same parts but at different test centres, happens with exhausts and all manor of weird stuff.

Hi Mark
Everyone got me really worried now why should they be too short, surely the standard ones are OK for IVA . What is the length of the stanadard ones?

Cheers

No need to worry unless you put them on wrong, they are long enough for IVA. Besides there are bigger more stressy issues than front wings if folk not used the engine from the donor car if what I have been told is correct.

All engines not from donor car need to meet 2009 emission regs so rules out lots of stuff like Rover V8's and some older bike motors perhaps...but I can't find this written down and like I said it's what I have been told but I tend to err on the side of the geezer who told me as been involved with the Industry for 8 years and knows his stuff as built heaps of cars and getting them thru IVA.

I suppose it's the same for IVA as it was SVA it depends on the day and the bloke doing the test as some stations fail folk for certain things where others haven't....same happens with MOT.
