Hi!

Thankīs for the nice words about my build and workshop
The rollbar is 76mm I thought 50mm will be a bit girly:D

I worked as a racemechanic for a few years and they banged in it in my head that everything must be in order and cleaned up before you got a beer

The build standing a bit still for the moment because of couriers:mad:

Emma sent my parts from England the 18:th of November.
The 23:th at 9.00am DPD came with ONE parcel -the nosecone
At 10.00am DHL came with ONE parcel - the seats
At 3.00pm UPS came with ONE parcel - the bonnet, dashboards...

At 26:th Shenker called and said that they have a delivery for me a stope of 153kg!!!!!!!!
The 27:th they come with ONE parcel 16kg!!!! -the rear panel and the wings.
The rear panel and a front wing AND a rear wing was damaged:(

I waited over the weekend but no sidepanels come. At tuesday evning I mailed Emma and ask if she could track it for me.

But at the same time the courier had come back with the sides to her, they thought it was to LONG:mad:

Some times I think someone is sitting at the couriers office laughing at me!!

Hope you all will have a great weekend Janne

Hi Janne,

we at Saturn are also aware that shipping to mainland Europe is not easy, the side panels are the main concern.

In fact , today i have been contacting various Road Haulage companies & have invited them to come to discuss our requirements for shipping the bodywork sets.
I,m trying to arrange a company that will take the kits "by Road", it may take a little longer but hopefully will solve the problem .

will keep you updated if i find a solution :)

Andy: I think thats the way, send it by road. Put all the parts except the sides in two or three big "paperboxes" and fill it up with something.
It must harder to throw a big box for the couriers:D

My steeringwheel is at the right side itīs in some small islands the drive at the left side:D :D

The plan is to send the kits out on a single Euro palet, but again its the side panels causing the problem. They are very large and vulnerable. Two reps are coming in on Tuesday for road haulage so should have some answers then.

Janne if there is anything we can do about the damaged parts then please let us know, i'm sure we can work something out. The only problem is the red Gel-Coat, due to the pigment colour anything with red in is very expensive.

You keep your workshop so clean, how did you avoid oil staining the floor and grinding dust everywhere? Top marks! The roll bar is great, mine sundry brackets and heavily over engineered to! Especially the engine mounds in 10 mm stock!

Looking great. The moment i know how to post pictures i will put some of my build on this forum. But 1 question how easy is it to get a regestration on your home build car in sweden? Here in Holland it is very hard most people first go to england for a anglisch reg. and than import the car in Holland. But that way is very expensive:mad: So i was wondering how do you do that in sweden?

A little update, today I paint the chassi all the other parts I also got a e-mail from Saturn with pictures of my replacements parts they look real good:D

BUT I almost got a heartattack today:eek:

I should just start spray the chassi then the garage start shaking like an earthquake:eek:

I run outside the garage and found out that the snow (40cm) from the roof had falt down to the ground....

It is a snowbank in front of the garagedoors that is 10m long, 2.5m weid and at least 1m high.....
I just pretend that I never seen it and went in and paint the chassi....

This was the result.

Looks really nice Janne,

your garage is bigger than my house  :D

does your steering column pass through the engine mount bracket?

& may i ask what the little bracket in the passeger side footwell/transmission rail is for ?

don,t put your chassis outside............you,ll lose it in the snow :p

The chassis in silver looks very advanced, like an aeroplane rather than a car.
I was jealous for a moment, but then realised I haven't started painting the chassis yet, so it's still an option.

Time for a little uppgrade!!

The chassi is almost done and itīs on wheels.

http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/janneeriksson/Rzerbil217.jpg

So now I started with the engine and gearbox, first I took it outside for big washup.
Then i took it all apart and cleaned it all up.
I will replace the bearings shells the piston rings, oil and waterpump the camshaft bearings. I got a new camshaft a Kent cam FR32. The head will be skimmed for 1.5mm and I will modify it a little bit. The flywhell is about 1.5kg lighter. At the top it will be a pair of dellorto 40mm.
It will not be a raceengine but I hope for about 130-140hp:)

Itīs been a long time since I uppdated, but here it comes :)

I thought i kept my build neat and tidy with attention to detail even on the small insignificant things but that is pretty immpressive for an amateur build :)

Keep up the good work and pics like that will be good inspiration for people having a slow patch with their build

Looks like you will be on the road soon although it will be a shame to get that one dirty! but you wont be thinking about that when your blasting down a country lane!

Ive done 1200 frantic miles already in the few months mine has been on the road

Hi boys and girls!!
Itīs really time for a update it has been a long and boring winter but I have making some upgrades with my roadster...

First I changed the cylinderhead to a head with big valves and fully ported and pollished from JE Motors.

http://i958.photobucket.com/albums/ae68/janneeriksson/Rzerbil397.jpg

Next job was to change to a 2.4 ratio steering rack and I got new wheels and new Toyo R888 so now Iīm only waiting for better weather.

The engine has been set up and runs fantastic... but itīs extremly cold in 120 miles an hour without helmet when itīs only +4 degres

Hi boys I think itīs time for a update...
My Roadster is real nice to drive, but got a little problems first it was the watertemp getting a bit to high for my nervs when driving in queue so I get a new bigger ally radiator. Then I got some problems with the oilpressure and got a little knocking sound for a second then it was coldstarted, so what to do???
I send Eric at JEm Engines a mail got a fair price for their Pinto premium plus shortblock, itīs bored out to 92mm and fully ballanced and it looks as new.
So out with old and in with the new.. I also changed the camshaft to a FR33 from Kent Cams.
I have only drived it for about 200km so I take it a bit easy so far:D
Here are some photos..

That polished head and the recon block look lovely Janne, should be a good blast with with the new cams in to. Just noticed your previous pics and the car has a really good mean look to it, like you number plate - whenever you fly past these boy racers (assume you have them to) they will all be left with egg on their faces................:D

All the Best.........Andy

Hi boys, now itīs really time for a little uppdate.....
Last winter I uppgrade the frontbrakes with Willwood breaks and made new chromed front wishbones. I also bought new longer frontwings so I donīt get my face full of stones... the R888 picks up a lot of small stones and they hurt as ......
The new engine runs real good, I got 175hp from the Pinto:D

Nice brakes, what pads have you gone for as I've got the same ones ? I know Ashgabat runs minted 1144's on his car
