I hate bl***Y brakes, Well Ash's brakes to be precise..
Still got a dodgy pedal. And before anyone says it,
NO there ain't any air in the system.

I'm not saying anything else for the moment..
But if he don't come online later tonight and say it's now ok.
I'm going round there tomorrow and do something nasty to his bottom:eek:

I had to leave him with it, swapping his stuff or mine.
So we'll wait and see......

Apart from that, his car is looking good for the IVA.
A couple of clips and a bit of trim and I think it'll be ready.

What, apart from breaks, are you going to do to the car for a week?:D Don’t break anything.

Cheers Ginge

That's got to be just sooooo frustrating :(

I hope the pair of you manage to get to the root of the problem :)

Perhaps a change of MC will do the trick !!

Chin up lads :)

It's driving me mad....
But at least I can walk away from it.
But poor Ash..Think it's defo getting to him now.
Keeps saying "bloody car" Don't blame him at all.
He certainly got more patience than me

I can well imagine the somber mood ..... Nothing worse than a persistent niggling fault that defies logic :(

Yep, I bet Ash has a lot more patience than me ..... I would probably be spending the next month picking out brake components out of the brickwork  :o

At least the pair of you have a little time in hand before the IVA :)

Knowing Ash & how he likes things "spot on"

I too can imagine his patience will be wearing thin,

between yourself & Ash, i,m sure you,ll solve the problem.

If it helps, i have a brand new M/C ( not even had fluid thru it ) that i,d be happy to courier on "overnight" service to Ash, just shout if its needed.

when you solve the prob, you,ll be soooooo pleased with yourselves,

keep at it fella,s.

You can buy a new one Ash /Dogwood for £39, depends which type you have you may have to re route a couple of pipes. As Flynercle said before it can only be a passing seal on the MC:

well its now got daves bedded in calipers and discs on it and the pedal is certainly better than it was. pedal is now solid about half way own. i have got a funny feeling because i had new calipers discs and pads it all just needed to bed in.

as for the master cylinder its a brand new one from brakes international. will have to see what dave thinks when he pops over tomorrow.

Ash & David have been quiet today

Let's hope they both had a much better day today :) :)

With a little luck, they'll be sitting there with the feet up & having a nice cold beer toasting a great days work  :)

its took us all day but I now finally have perfect brakes!! turns out it was the brand new master cylinder that was at fault. couldn't believe that i could have had 2 duff master cylinders in a row!! Brakes International will be getting an earful Monday morning they can donate me a few litres of brake fluid for all the fluid i wasted on their duff master cylinder.

so just to sum up the car is now on its third master cylinder and it isn't even road legal yet lol.

just want to say cheers to dave for all his spare parts and all the time he has given up to help me. couldn't have done it without the help.

That's briliant news Ash :)

You have definately had a run of bad luck there :(

They say that lightning never strikes twice ....... What are the chances of that hapening .... No wonder it was so baffling

Here's wishing you a nice few relaxed days tinkering & tweaking the last few bits n bobs

All the best for Friday Ash .... Rooting for you

You don't know the half of it....
Just didn't make sense, all new stuff and s**t peddle.
Just kept pointing to air in the system.
We bled and bled it. Ash got through best part of 5ltrs of fluid.
So knew it just could not be air.

All we could do is change things one at a time till we found it.
Of course that meant bleeding the system each time .
Last on the list was the MC., brand new from a reputable dealer.
Moral: Trust no one, suspect everything.

Ayway, now looks good for Friday.
Only bad luck would cause a fail now, like a wheel falling off.
Hang on...This is ASH we ae talking about...

:D :D

Knowing Ash, i,m sure everything will be tight, checked twice then checked a third time & maybe ask someone to check it all again.

having followed Ash,s build through CKC & of course on this forum i,m sure the IVA will be a breeze for his car

Hmm!!! I've had duff M/Cs from Brakes international as well before now... Mine had obviously been sitting on a shelf somewhere for some time and the seal blew on the first pump, and an MX-5 rear caliper which failed a week after I fitted it. I've also had a lot of gear off them over the years that's been fine and there prices are usually better than anywhere else.
Still very frustrating though.
Had you not solved it i was going to suggest you checked the rear shoe clearance. Remember self adjusting rear brakes means you have to adjust them yourself :)

At least you've got it sorted

hi Vern did you have any problems sending stuff back to them? the self adjusters on my rear drums are spot on. Dave and i let them off several times and every time they adjusted them self's back up without fail.

just glad they are ok now. I have had quite a bit of stuff off brakes int in the past and never had a problem. wonder what they will be like sending it back now as i got it back in November.

Never had any problems with returns. Phone them first thing tomorrow and explain what's happened and they should get it sorted pretty quick.
They've always been helpful when I ve had problems
