I'm about to start on bodywork, and need a rivnut tool. Anyone got any recommendations for where to get one, and are M6 rivnuts big enough to hold scuttle and nosecone on? Also, steel or ali rivnuts?

Cheers

Rivnut tool.

Good quality nut and bolt. little bit of thin flat plate with right size hole in it

Put the rivnut in, plate on top to stop rivnut turning.
Screw bolt in (With tightning nut attached)
Then holding plate, tighten nut, till rivnut is secure

I'm using 6mm bolts to hold my scuttle (3 each side)
and nosecone (2 each side, 2 in bottom flange)

Try one of these Adrian:

They are not cheap but are bloody good, solid gear. I went through a few cheaper versions before i splashed out on this one. If you use 6mm rivnuts, use the flush fitting ones, and drill the holes out 6.5mm also for added security you can slightly notch the hole before fitting rivnut this will prevent rivnut turning.
