Hi Guys.
Was out yesterday sorting the engine bay wiring.
Found a plain Blue wire, can't seem to find were it goes.
It's got a stud connector on the end, if anyone thinks they know.
It's a 2.0efi Pinto BTW

Looked in the book for insperation......:eek:
OK question: In the wiring diagram, is BL, Blue or Black?
I assumed it was Blue, thinking Black may be BK
but can't find a colour code.
So secondry Question, Anyone know or have a colour ID code.

Also see a lot marked SW.....
The only thing I can think of is Sh1t White:rolleyes:

I,ve been working on my electrics lately ( with help :o ) , i,ll have a look at the diagrams i,ve got & get back to you later this morning about the plain blue wire.

cheers

There is a standard car wiring code list here: http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/file_uploads/Colour_code_for_vehicle_wiring_-_new_order_2.pdf
Hope it helps.

Just been having a look at the Haynes manual David ;)

In the engine bay on models circa 1989, the Blue wire goes to the alternator .... Warning light, by the looks of it !!

Can't find any reference to SW in the colour codes ?? .... This term quite often used to denote Switch ( In electrical speak ) :confused:

Here's the Haynes Colour codes

B = Blue
BK = Black
Bn = Brown
GN = Green
R = Red
RS = Pink
S = Grey
V = Violet
W = White
Y = Yellow

That's the best info that I can find mate :) :)

Cheers for the help guys..
I ain't fitted the alternator yet....
No wonder I couldn't find were the Blue wire went..:rolleyes:
Sounds spot on, what with the stud terminal on it.

Can I just double check with you TT,
When I see SW I should read Black?
If so, no wonder I couldn't find anything marked BK
And I'm inundated with left over Black wires...:eek:
