mine is 2mm ali chequerplate - because it's what i had lying around.

I'm sure you are already aware of this, but isn't a 2mm steel floor going to be REALLY heavy?

Rather than start a new thread I thought i'd bump this one up.

My question - I'll be using 2mm thick Ali for my floor but the supplier gave me a choice of grades - what do i want?!!! 1050, 5083 - these numbers mean nothing to me....

Cheers!

Josh,

I am no expert but I have found this (http://www.aircraftspruce.com/pdf/2009Individual/Cat09064.pdf)which might be worth a read,

Someone with more experience will be along in a minute.

Cheers Ginge

5083 is much better. Try and get a decent hardened one as well, T25 or something.

Blackburns Metals down in Edenbridge say they would recomend and can supply me with a 2m*1m*2mm thick ali sheet of grade 5251-H22. Can anyone in the know say if this is what I want?! Cheers:cool:
