I wonder if someone could make reproduction Fglass Steerign column cowels. As Non adjustable cowels are getting very hard to come by in any condition for a reasonable sum of money..

ANYONE ( HINT TO THE NORTH EAST POSSY.... )

It's fired up, car is cleaned and warmed up and its a lovely day........:D

Good idea though, i couldn't only get the top half for mine + we could make them in a colour to match body. Will make a start on that......;)

Yeah I was thinking colour coded would be an idea.

And should be relativly straight forward :)

Two versions could be made.

1 as a replaceemnt for the sierra with the bonnet catch recess, and a plain one with no recess..

One without a bonnet release would be a good idea, will be a bit fiddly though but worthwhile............

will start on them next week with the first one in RAL 3015 for Paul......:D

may I ask your opinions on this............

Spud & I have discussed in the past whether a GRP top panel for the rear tub would be a good addition to the GRP parts that Saturn supply........

so what are your thoughts folks? good idea or not ?

:o sorry spud..... I might be adding to our workload  :D in time tho...

I think so yes, a bit of time invested in the buck and you can make em whenever you need em :)

I expect many folk building the Roadster have given some thought as to how they might tackle the task of the boot lid ( So to speak ) ;)

You can include me as one of those :)

A nice little Sunday project for you both  :D

Everyone is adding to our workload Andy, but i'm not complaining.

The grp panel to fit inside the real panel needs extra thought as builds vary depending on backstays, grp or ali tub and differences in dimensions. But i'm sure it will come.

Now off out for drinks and a band........

Easy answer to that question is yes but don't bother trying to please everyone as we all do things different...Just make it to suit how you would build the car as a kit car firm and also make it fit the rear tub spotty dog like...:D
Another idea for you is:
GRP trans tunnel cover with fag holding tray and room for a can of red bull;)

Another one:
Full boot under tray/diffuser but same as boot lid(make it fit the grp tub)

I'll keep that lanky one busy hahahahahahahahahahaha

There was a company selling steering column cowels shown in CKC last year, I'll see if I can dig it out. There was a plain one, and one that had recess for a vapor dash directly behind the wheel. Don't know if there was a choice of colours tho!!

In fact, here you go TT, was this what you had in mind?

It actually fits the acewell digital dash, or you can have a plain one to fit what you like to it. I hope this link works, I'm new to this forum malarkey.

Linky (http://www.agmsportscars.co.uk/agm_sports_cars_2_016.htm)

That looks worse than the original, whats wrong with putting the speedo in the dash?

Must practice my thread placing. Quite right Steve, it's an ugly bit of kit if you don't wanna mount an acewell unit, would have been a much better job without the upper appendage. I'm sure Andy and Andy (AKA the north easy posse:rolleyes:  ) can come up with something a bit neater for a really good price.:D
