Went over to Hartlepool with the wife and kids today to pick up my wishbones, pedal box, rack ext, diff brkts and tub conversion.

Drive over was lovely, got there at 9:45 and found Spuds and Handy's cars outside the unit gleaming in the sunshine.

Found Handy in the office and started chatting.

Had a good chat and coffee before Spud turned up and started chatting too. Wife and lads were also chatting and having a good look at the cars.

After sortign business with spud he took the wife out in his car, I had sugested to her that she may like ride and she jumped at the chance. She Loved IT!! :D

Then I had a ride too. It's reinforced all my desire to get one done. The car is a real point and squirt missile. But still manages to be relativly comfortable even with the glass seats, and the noise and wind rash are not as bad as I had thought :)

Mark and Coozer ( in his MNR Vortex ) also poped over for a visit ( Nice to meet you both )

Had a HandyBurgur ( YUM YUM ) cooked on the washing machine :)

All in all a gr8 morning, Both andys were very freindly and have an obvious pasion for Saturn. The workshop looked gr8, a complete chassis was ont eh table and a flatpack, and a glass set in the laying up area.

Andy's car was going weel even after yesterdays thrashing at the track day, Handys car is comming on nicely too, I had a try in the Mamba seats and they seem gr8 for the money.

After leaving we headed down to whitby, another nice drive. Got booked into our B&B and hit the beach for an hour or so, then wanderd up the beakwater, through the town and ended up with chish and fips from Magpies YUM..

Internet at B&B sorted :)

Pics late..

It was great to meet you at last TT, you & your family :)

Glad you enjoyed your time with us talking "Roadster", you even got perfect weather for your drive out with Spud,
Hey... you best watch out mate, your wife is totally hooked on the Roadster, you,ll end up having to ask for the keys as she,ll be out driving it I reckon :D

Hope the boys had a sleep on the way to Whitby, some driving without them asking " are we there yet" :D
Great kids by the way, very polite & seemed to enjoy being around the cars,
Toby made me smile.............. most 5yr old kids would read a Fireman Sam or Thomas the tank book, not Toby.... he was engrossed with the machine mart catalogue.....probably working out what new tools you need for your build , you have a great future mechanic there, & little Daniel telling you to fasten your harness when sitting in the car,

great pics too

cheers
andy

Yep, weather was spot on, hope tomorrow is the same.

Toby likes thomas,etc.. But he loves machines and cables and things.. He tends to pilfer cables from my computer cable box.. And I once found my £120 engine diagnostic lead missing.. He had it upstairs plugged into his "Vetech" laptop!!

As for Sue Nicking the keys.... Well when car two is done she won't need too.. :D

Toby loves to try and help me, I just get worried when it's one of the big cars. It's one of the reasons I am doing the Haynes, get him properly interested in something of value, learn skills and techniques . Hopefully get us out doing something like auto testing or hill climbing. Then when he is able to compete he will have a good hobby and a posibility of endles fun and oportunities. And one thing.... How cool is it going to be, getting picked up from school in the snarling sports car that you made with ya dad :D .

Oh and I need someone to put in them rivets...:p

And this is the reason I can't start the project without being mega guilty.

http://www.rob1tt.f2s.com/sierra/smmov1j.jpg

Erika, My beloved Sapph. Had her from 1994 when she was a 1.8GL.. Came off the road for a light resto and upgrade in 2000... Has had a lot of welding ( sills ( 3 part ) wings, arches, floor repairs, chassis repairs. Etc ) A conversion to 4x4, Disk & ABS upgrade, Cosworht KIT, Cosworth leather and dash, Konis, Braided hoses, and a 24V Cosworth V6...

Now it was supposed to be finished about 7 years ago, and then 6 , 5 .... Finaly 3 years ago she got to the runnign drivingish stage. And house moves, other cars etc have got in the way... But I need to push this year to get her to ford fair. Once that's done the schedule should be clear..

It's all just minorish jobs to finish... All the real hard work ( well except the final body prep and spray ) is done...
