how far does an escort rack move lock to lock ?
i have sort of used haynes wishbones on a modification i am doing, and on full lock i am getting very close to fouling the rear of the lower bone..
its not too hard to restrict the rack i am using, just wondered how much an escort rack moves

I’m sure it is 2.7 lock to lock.
I have taken my rack off at the moment so can’t go and check sorry.

Here you go AnguS
Is this the measurement that you are looking for.
I have just laid my Escort rack ( Original Ford one ) on a piece of card
Placed it down on full lock and marked the position of the track controll arm ends.
Turned the rack to full opposite lock & marked the ends again.
I came up with an approximate total travel of 130mm from lock to lock.
Hope it helps mate :)

Hi Angus,
The new racks we supply are 2.9 turns lock to lock and as with Ronnie the full travel is 130mm.

i know a trick the hot rodders would use was to remove the rack gator and undo the knuckle/track rod on the end of the rack its self and make a bumpstop from nylon or simular or increase the size of the orignal to reduce the lock to lock distence to stop wheels rubbing arches.
would that work if not you will need to make yourself some kind of hard stop

thanks for that
i have a bit more travel than that with my rack
explains why the wheel gets close on full lock
