Got an opportunity to pick up a great set of carbon ray half leather Mini One front seat for a good price, anyone know if they would fit in the car?
I'm working on the principle that around 41-42cm is max width? if anyone could advise as I don't have my chassis constructed yet
Cheers

455 i think ia the theoretical maximum. But idealy you want a little clearance.
Most production car seats are far too wide, most aftermarket ones too wide tooo.

Hi Matt
I have just had a quick measurement of my chassis & as TT has said, there is a gap of aproximately 455mm for the seats.
As TT has also said, you need to bear in mind that the harness fixings will need a little of that space.
430mm - 440 mm Max seat width ??

Mazda MX-5 seats can be persuaded to fit into the Locost chassis (a bit narrower than Haynes): both foam and some of the pan has to be cut.

I have a pair of Honda CRX seats that could theoretically fit this way, the distance between the outermost hinges is around 450 mm, and the full width is over 500 mm unmodified. A lot of cutting would be required.

Good point, and, of course, the IVA examiner will insist on being able to see the bolt heads, so just because the seat fit in between there may still be a problem (unless the seat can be slid forward to allow inspection).
