Well, its finally time for me to start thinking about producing AutoCAD drawings for the dashboard, so that I can order up all the components and get everything laser cut.

So, the point of this thread (I hope) is so that we can compile a group of photo / drawings of exisitng layours to provide inspiration,

I am thinking about using the popular Koso Digital Dash - RX2N, but also I think conventional dials would look great.

First thing to establish, overal dimensions & height: my existing dash runs levels with the bottom of the scuttle with some cut outs around the footwell, but this seems a little tight inside. (259 x 1116) i think

Hi Nick

I am taken by this kind of design.

Not cheap to make but in my mind, combines style with a classic look :)

A similar Red & Black dash like that would look rather fetching on my build

I am in the middle of copying that exact dash in black and orange, but with an additional centre console section to tie it into the tunnel top. Not too hard or expensive to make, 6mm MDF, cut the coloured sections out, cover everything in 6pm foam, then cover with the two coloured vinyls and use thin Ali strips to fix the inserts back in place. The hardest part is adding batten along the bottom edge, then routing the correct radius on it. There's anearly photo of it inky pictures in my signature.

Cheers

Adrian

Glad that I am not alone in my tastes Adrian :)

Yes, a section added in to tie up with the tramsmission tunel would be cool.

Look forward to seeing your completed dash  :)

I've found it very useful, only problem is i cannot decide which ones to adapt to my designs.

hope this helps

I reckon that is a spot on link, thanks guys. I am thinking traditional dials are the way to go.
