hi, due to the lack of cheap old sierras and the fact i am going for a rv8 engine, i was wondering how it works at iva time if nearly all your parts for the build come from different vehicles i.e. breakers, dismantelers and ebay

Makes no difference at iva, but when you register the car it will mean you will have a q plate rather than an age related or new plate.

Only difference I can think of is proving engine age for emissions (engines manufactured in 1995 or earlier don't need a CAT for IVA).
Not sure how you prove age if you don't use a donor vehicle?

I'm in the same boat as you.
I'm using engine, loom steering colum from my Mk5 Escort
and everything else from a sierra but all bought individualy.

The only proof of age for the engine for me would be my log book but does'nt that get taken when you scrap the car?

You can send a letter to ford for them send a proof of age back

All you are going to need to do is locate the engine number and expose it. The date codes are here and thats about all the proof you should need. Hope this helps.
