Need some advice. I have noticed that the positon of the bottom u1 and u2 on BR7, in some peoples build pictures is slightly different from the book. Which is 180mm from center line, have they got it wrong or am I missing something.
I have read that some people have packed out some of there suspension brackets on the front so I gather that a little bit of packing is ok.
I have also read somewhere on here that the book suspension alignment jigs are incorrect, just need some advice thanks in advance.

If you leave them loose-ish till you mount the suspension brackets then, you can just put them to suit saving you have to pack them out.

Im not aware the mounting jigs are out in the book, although most people make timber jigs which are easier I think.

If you check out Andy's blog theres some good info and the plans for a timber jig

if its the two tubes behind the front frame i would recomend leaving them out until you are ready to put the front suspension brackets on i wish i did or put the suspension brackets on early

too far in and its realy tight to get your steering shaft in and you will have to pack out your suspension bracket as i did

too far out and your suspension brackets will be too far appart

the problem is the box tube has a radiused edge and the thicker the tube wall the bigger the radius

Yes, use the bracket suspension jig with the brackets to place U1 and U2. I had to undo mine (fortunately just tacked) when I placed the brackets. So better doing the 2 things at once!
Good luck:)

Thankyou for all your helpful posts, I will leave u1 and u2 out until I fit the suspension brackets.
