I'm doing quite a lot of welding and grinding at the moment and, as I have quite a reputation for being accident prone, I have a new safety routine.

Big gauntlets, leather apron, steel cap boots and a new welding hemet or a full face visor.

I'm fully safety'ed up.

So I've finished welding on some brackets yesterday and all the gear comes off. Standing up to look at my handiwork I put my hand straight on the bit I'd just welded.

Bugger.

All the gear in the world is no match for stupidity :(

Cheers

Chris :)

been there more than a couple of times. It is crap, and it always made me feel like a complete idiot.
I did learn to wear long gloves so that i dont get heat burns on my arms anymore.

Been there myself on more than one occasion, seems we never learn unless we do it half a dozen times.

Here's one for you:
Minding my own listening to punk music on the cd while laying up a seat, some carrier bloke walks in and shouts in my ear!! Makes me jump and I drop the bucket but tit here tries to catch it only to end up with resin in my eyes!!
Now that does hurt!
