Finding some great uses for stainless steel sheet.....can be formed quite easily, here it is over the arc above the rear wheel arch

Another stainless waste bin bites the dust and going through 1mm cutting discs like there is no tomoz ....this is going to be an edge protector around the base sides of the car, held on with double sided tape.

How are you getting the edges finished so well Kev - they look brilliant!

K4KEV 30th May 2018 10:21 AM

Hi Ian...well first off it is the inside of the bin that shows, having had a liner in meant that surface was pristine, and the nice bend comes from the bender I made for forming tanks ....a little bit of cloth in between stops any scratches while bending.

Started fitting bottom edge protectors today and got a full ticket at the MOT station yesterday, straight through no issues, will soon be back on the market.

I binned my old bin after it sat outside for 5 years waiting for some use...

Ha Ha....I throw nowt out ....my missus does her nut because I need to check everything she throws out and my "that might come in handy someday" skill kicks in.....a few years down the line I often say to her "remember when"
Got to though it is a nasty habit because I do keep a lot of rubbish.

Hi kev what size alloys do you have is it 17" or 15" or what size are they. I also see you using the ca18det engine and I plan on using one aswell what is your thoughts on that engine

K4KEV 18th June 2018 10:44 AM

Hi Ricky....they are 17" with 205 50's and fill the arch's beautifully, The CA18DET is a fantastic engine that will take stage 1,2 and 3 with only programmed chips in a normal ecu....I did have it at stage 3 but went back to stage 2 as it was more controllable/predictable, for loads of info join Driftworks and SXOC they were invaluable for prepping the engine loom and tuning tips.
Take care with the trans tunnel at the gearstick area as it needs to be a little wider to accommodate the passage of the two large flat nuts either side of the gearbox, they are indent springs for the gearstick to "spring from side to side".
Everything I did to fit the engine is there in my thread, just takes a while to find it lol.
