MY Custom made Grill.

Today I took delivery of my personal designed grill this morning, and after 3 months waiting for designs to be apporved, I finally had the go ahead on Thursday to get it made and Fairplay to Martin (The gentlman making it) he waited patiently.
The main part was getting authorisation from Help for Heroes as normally to copy a design it has to be designed especially for a charity event but I managed to get around that with a bit of sweet talking as you do.

But it's finally here my design and the best of all there can never be an exact one made again I suppose it makes mine that bit more personal.

Martin has done an exhaust Heat Sheild with the roadster logo on but for some reason I am unable to upload the picture for some reason.

Just a thought now he has the template for the roadster nose i've given him the "Roadster" Logo so he is going to do a design on CAD so I can upload it on here for you to see.
He is willing to do "One-offs" for people but if all the same e.g with the roadster logo a discount would be given if 5 or more is ordered.
I Paid £45 for that design but it had to be made from scratch.
It's made from 3mm brushed stainless steel.

Looking good. If you do a miniture of the middle bit say the size of the old aa plaque I will buy three off and stick one to the back panel.

Looks good!
It's going to be a nightmare covering it in edging strip for IVA though :D

Can you post a pic of what the roadster one might look like?

Looking great and for a good cause... very original

There is a handy guide on the caterham website HERE.

It shows to cover the front of the grille with fine mesh to pass IVA.

Thanks guys I'm glad you like it.
right then:

Twin Turbo: he sells grill on ebay with the "7" logo on they go fro about £30+
but I know I paid £45 maybe because I was the first with the Roadster so may be cheaper. once i have the CAD drawing I will upload it on here.

Robo: I'm not sure about the design you would have to E-mail the lady PM me if you want it. Ideally she wanted the whole medal within the grill but as it was limited to space she was happy, mind you i had to e submit the desing 3 times. They are very strick on Font as it has to be in "Trojan Pro".

Skov: Please don't mention IVA I thought about removing it for iva and just having the mesh behind, as it will need mest as the caps in the gill are quite large.
my mate is trying to do photoshop of the car so once it is done i will upload the pics.

Rapidtornado :
Thank you.

tkpm: I will upload a pic once i get one. He has also doen a heat sheild.

SeriesLandy: cheers for that, for some reason it will not load (Probably my computer).

Thanks Again
Dean

Quite like that Roadster design Dean

Could be up for one of those, keep us informed of their progress.

A nice bit of fine dark mesh behind that & the design will really pop ( Thinking that grill would be ideal to place in front of the mesh, post IVA ;) )

I could be interested in one aswell depending on price:)

Deanno 24th January 2012 08:18 PM

These are some of the grill he has done.

This is the reply I had:

Hi Dean, I have made a Roadster Grille before, please see attached photo,(along with other examples) cost for one off is £40. 5 or more would be £35 ecah including postage. The cost of one off grilles depends on the complexity and whether I neet to create a new daring for the outer profile to fit the nosecone. The cost vary between £30-£50.
Regards, Martin.

I'm not Welsh but I am liking the look of that Welsh Dragon. I'll have to look at the aperture of my nosecone for dimensions.
