Can you see behind you without any blind spots - yes = pass, no = fail

I've yet to find a commercially built motor vehicle that allows me to see behind via mirrors without any blind spots.

The main thing ash is to make sure they are high enough to see over the rear wings, make them higher than the rear wings and as wide as poss and you will be okay. Also for the mirror size you need to be able to fit a rectangle of 70x40mm somewhere within the mirror itself. Some people have been caught it by having the mirror over 40mm deep and 70mm wide but you cant fit the complete rectangle in. The centre mirror is 40x80mm.

They didn't used to bother with having to see over the rear wing but they have tightened up with the IVA.

Have a look at section 8, it looks quite complicated but ain't too bad. sometimes they will go to the extreme of places the viewing cones out if they are in any doubt.

All the Best.....AndyH

Of all the mirrors that are sva compliant which ones look like they belong on the car?
