Roadster Builder Locations

Having seen this on LB, i was wondering if anyone else would be interested in starting one for the Roadster?

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/view...php?tid=115934

Its essentially just the locations of people building Locosts and you can see if there is someone near by that you didn't know about.

All you need is a rough idea of where it is you are building your Roadster, so postcode, street name or even village will do.

Any takers?

Just thought i'd add the link to the map in the first post:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=...42014&t=h&z=15

EDIT: You only need to include your town or village name to give a rough idea of where you are in the world. This should alleviate fears of people possibly being able to locate our cars.

I think this has been done on here Simon, cant remember when though.
Cheers for the pipes !;)
Good idea like LB site too have pins and names stuck in the map.

Tatey 12th December 2009 03:39 PM

Your welcome Paul, always good to help out a fellow builder. If you ever need a hand with anything else just give me a shout.

Stick mine on Tatey for a built car, TS26 8LB. You can also put work down, TS25 1PE - also down on the single seater map...:D

Been out today to give Ryan and Sean a ride out and what a good time was had. The car never stops making you smile, come on everybody we need as many cars on the road as poss for the summer.

Tatey 12th December 2009 09:23 PM

That's everyone added on now. I've put peoples user names as their locations in case people want to get in contact with each other.

I'm defiantly hoping to get my car done for the summer.

sorry if i,m boring :o
but is there a security issue with putting postcode location of our cars on a public forum?

hmmmm????

andy

flyerncle 12th December 2009 09:53 PM

Cheers Andy catch up when I am back.:)

Tatey 12th December 2009 10:09 PM

I did think about that Andy, but they are postcodes, so if anyone wanted to try and nick our cars they'd have to search the street to find the house with the shiny car in the garage, in which case someone could have done already.

If anyone wants their postcode taken off the map i'll happily do so.

ok, safe trip:)

HandyAndy 12th December 2009 10:15 PM

Tatey,,,

i,m not trying to be a killjoy, in fact the idea is a great one for the members of the forum but as its a public forum, there,s some not so nice people about & maybe....just maybe this MIGHT make it easier for them to locate our pride & joy,s.

cheers
andy

LeonN 12th December 2009 10:22 PM

Ow no sumone is on thare way to nick my car!

It is a dam good point. Thankfully as pointed out. My postcoad narowes dawn the location of my build to about 80 houses. All with garadges most full of stuff not cars and non have windows.

I hope all us potentiol nieave fools are ok.

Cyberbeej 13th December 2009 02:02 AM

I'm not worrying, my postcode only tells what street i live in. my build is in another town locally.

I see the point, can you not just narrow in down to a partial postcode like ka24 and a town name.

Matthew 13th December 2009 09:49 AM

My postcode's a bit too specific - only about 10 houses, but can you add me anyway, based on the village - Liphook, Hampshire

Matt
