2.0 Zetec & MT75 questions

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I've been on here and unfortunately a while since I've been making any real progress on my Roadster; studies and health problems getting in the way :( . Thankfully I'm back on it now, and I have some questions...

I'm running a 1.8 Zetec flywheel on my 2.0 Zetec - Photo

Which clutch kit would you recommend I use?
Which release bearing do I need?

I'm also missing a starter motor (Photo), any recommendations?

Cheers
Josh

I have Type 9, su there might be some differences (esp. with the bearing), but maybe not. I used a clutch disk and plate from Mondeo Zetec 1.8i (220x26x23) and a Capri release bearing (QH CCT133, LuK 500 0184 10). I hear some people are fine with a normal Sierra bearing. I used the starter from a Sierra CVH 1.8 (bought it together with the sump), although I've heard all CVH and DOHC starters would do (Pinto had the flywheel teeth 15 mm further from the back surface of the engine).

I've got a couple of starter motors - which I believe suit an MT75. If you have trouble finding one let me know. I am sure we can come to an arrangement!

Clutch wise, you will need the drive and cover plate from an early mk1 1.8 mondeo that had the mtx75 gearbox.

This will give you your 220mm clutch with 1" 23 spline drive for the mt75 first motion shaft.

Thrust bearing will be from the mt75 and needs either a 20mm spacer on the bearing ie westfield or the clutch pivot point moving 20mm ie Gbs.

Got my clutch and starter motor sorted, but I'm having problems with the Capri release bearing (see photos)... Do I need a different bearing or is there another fix?

My old RB (left) and the new Capri RB (right) and release fork:

The old RB fitted in the release fork:

The capri bearing is for the type 9.

You need the mt75 bearing for the mt75. It then needs spacing out with either a spacer on the bearing or the pivot point.

Yep thats what ive got on mine. That price is just daft. Look at the solution by gbs.

Do a search on the robin hood forum it could be done with just a big nut and bolt.

Drift the old pivot out, tap it to somthing like m12. Grind the head of an m12 bolt to a mushroom, wind it into the gearbox and lock it of on the out side with a nyloc.

One adjustable pivot point, cost a few pence. :p
