GSXR carb spares ??

Hi all.

I know there are a few bike fans on here & perhaps someone will be able to offer some advice.

I recenty bought a bargain basement set of Suzuki GSXR 600 carbs.
During transit one of the carb top, vaccumn hose fitting has snapped off

I know nothing about bike carbs. I don't even know the correct name of the part I need. :o

I have posted a photo of one of the undamaged parts for reference.

I have spent a couple of hours on tinternet & came up with nowt :(

No part number is marked on the plastic housing, the carbs look only to be marked Mikuni / Made in Japan.
They are 38mm bore on the engine side if that helps.

Any information in helping to identify the Mikuni carb type or source of spare parts would be most welcome.

Hi Ronnie
i know this sounds cheap n cheerful but the part you need to replace is probably sourced from a suzuki main dealer, they,ll have details of part number on microfische thingy, or if you still have the tube bit thats snapped off try using araldite or similar, as long as its air tight it should be ok as its just for a vaccumn hose.
reason i say araldite is i had a crash in a race & caused damage to same part as you have, to get out in next race it was glued back on  :D
hope that helps.
cheers

Cheers Andy

I do have the broken fitting & would glue it back in place as a last resort. ;)

At the price I paid for them, I don't mind spending a few quid obtaining a new part.

I have only bought them as a back up if things go pear shaped with my Zetec & throttle body install. :o :o :D

Best place to try would be Robinsons Foundry

http://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk

I've had a few suzuki parts from there before.

They do list some gsxr part, including a top cap - http://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/sh...350/index.html

probably best to send them a pic and see what they say.

Cheers

Thanks for that Dave.

That link may be very usefull

I have just done a search on the Suziki UK webite & have found that I have a dealer quite local to me.

At least they should be able to ID the Mikuni carb & find a part number. ;)

Snapped mine off a few days ago, superglue held in a vice for a few mins, feels fine.
