Grinding

Hi sorry to be going on about this subject of grinding welds, thanks to ozzy1 who recommended some flap wheels that go in your grinder, they work great.can someone just confirm along the side of the car where the ally panels fit should these weld points all be completely flat ? Do the ally panels sit completely flat flush to the chassis faces?

Thanks

yep...most of us do ....beef up the internal welds a little;)

Don't go overboard though -- 1 mm of the weld standing out will not have a big influence on the panels, but will be significantly stronger than a weld ground flush (especially if you're not 100% sure you got full penetration).

Thanks for that, It was what i was thinking really, in my mind I thought I would be difficult to achieve a really flat fit of panels across the chassis faces.
