Four speed box

I managed to get a pinto off a guy up the road from me, and he recently told me he has uncovered the 4 speed box that was originally used with the engine i believe, to be honest I was going to get a type 9 box to mate up with the pinto but this guy says I can have the box. Is it worth going for and then later updating to a type 9. Not sure what to do to be honest.

What are people's thoughts.

Get it, it will be good for a start and you may rarely use 5th anyway ;)

I'm using a 4 speed box in my build, Burton Power website should help you diagnose which box it is, some are type e, mine is a type 3 though... helps to know for sure when you are replacing gaskets, etc!

Thanks that's a big help ,been looking at type 9 and they seem to change hands fast and can be quite expensive so getting the original box is going to help towards getting on the road a bit quicker.

Thanks again
