Lunar Rover Early 70's

Here is a real puzzler or maybe not.

How did NASA get the Lunar Rover on the moon.

K4KEV 11th February 2013 08:04 PM

Same as us really.......IN BITS:cool:

Bonzo 11th February 2013 08:04 PM

It was taken there in kit form. ;)

They used a book called " Build your own Lunar Rover on a Budget " :D :D

Ahh classic!

Can you imagine getting it there and finding some one had forgotten the wheel nuts? 'For the 100th time yes I have checked every thing' er Housten we have a problem...'

Go back in time and think about where they would have put it and there was nowhere to put it in kit form and how did they put it together when the gloves they used then were not pliable enough.

Genuine question and if you analyse it this could be the greatest con of all time.

It was the size of a Mini and 600kg

Seriously Paul, I have often thought " Did they or didn't they "

So many questions remain unexplained.

Why have they never been back
Why did they not build a moon base

Seems a bit daft to spend billions on an international space station that will ultimately drop out of orbit.

Surely with the advent of the space shuttle it would have been all go on a return to the moon.

Just to think, the technology that existed in the 60's was no more powerful than today's scientific pocket calculator. ?

Interesting that the Russians never showed any interest in the moon. ;)

Doubting Thomas here, hell yes :)

sparkybagnall 12th February 2013 10:53 AM

Have you not seen the transformers film dark side of the moon slightly far fetched but you never no

But I must admit its a fair question how did they get that car up there

Mike's on the money and that was the answer I got from a pal in the states who had something to do with NASA.

Ronnie, there are odd things to do with moon landings like pictures with shadows in the wrong place and mountains in the same place on different pictures,I cant remember the exact details but will try and find out.

TSM Locost 12th February 2013 03:20 PM

Desert in Tunisia where they filmed Starwars and other moon related items.

As Ronnie said "Doubting Thomas here," ;)

There were 400 thousand people involved in the Apollo programme. If it were a mystification, there is no way the US government could have kept it under wraps for long.

ayjay 12th February 2013 11:35 PM

It all just helps sell books written by the Conspiracy Theorists:rolleyes:

flyerncle 13th February 2013 07:58 PM

Agreed Albert but eveything is bigger and better in America (not).

This thread could go on a while......

robo 14th February 2013 10:00 PM

Surely with the modern telescopes all the crap that is dumped on the moon ie buggies flags etc would be visible

alga 15th February 2013 09:44 AM

Through the orbital telescopes like Hubble, probably :-) But then NASA might cheat you anyway :-)

flyerncle 15th February 2013 07:25 PM

It has been said you can still see the footprints of the Lunar landings on the surface, lets face it,if they can see millions/billions of light years away (numbers beyond comprehension)the Moon is a hop skip and a jump away
