Chassis Question

Hi Guys,

Modelling up my forth coming build, when chassis arrives etc and spotted a potential issue that you guys could help with.
On the drivers side, there is tube that runs from the bulkhead to the front frame.
On my build, the intake manifold is in the way. (Needed for IVA pass).
I have attached a screen shot and highlighted the tub in question.

Any suggestions of best course of action, move to passenger side, change to meet side then side to front etc???

Many thanks!

Most leave it out and put a shorter one wherever they can one the mock up is done

Mine was on the other side

Hi,

So if I put it on the other side and a shorter on one the driver side, would be fine?

Finish your mockup of your engine bay then add bracing as required it should be fine i left it out completely on my first chassis

When you do start cutting it,I made the top and lower rails in one complete section and just cut a "v" out where they need to curve, bit stonger and less cutting/welding if you get what I mean.

I like that idea

I left said tube out as well and to date cant tell what if any difference it would make.

Probably over engineered for safety/liability.
But would add to rigidity of the frame, someone with Cad could do FEA and tell you if it would make that much difference.
