Nice choice, I thought that bonzo [deceased:p } had one in a car.

No reason why it shouldn't go in. Not much different size wise to the Zetec.
I myself have an 2ltr Ecotec (X20XEV) that was developed from the Redtop (C20XE) which I will be using, either with a Ford Type9 gearbox and bellhousing adapter, or more likely the Getrag box out of the Omega.

as said its what box your going to use that's going to make a diffrence direct fit or ajust chassis problem

opel manta boxes are what was used on the 2 7 style kits i used to do cash work on
type9 conversions or omega are the only others i can think of

i dont think any of the options are massive. ashG did use a vauxhall box on his saab engine conversion iirc he didnt need to chop anything on his type9 chassis

The RWD box from the Omega does apparantly fit into the Type9 chassis as proven by Ash, although I would have thought it'll be a bit tight!

Not sure if the Omega box fits directly to the C20XE, should do though as I'm pretty sure it's the same block as the X20XEV which was an engine choice in the Omega.

I posted this ad up a while ago, it might still be up for grabs. Problem solved:)

If using this engine with a type 9 box, would the standard clutch/flywheel setup work?

BORNXenon 24th September 2012 12:42 PM

Not entirely sure.
This is one reason why I'm going to use the Omega box, it just bolts straight up.
