Steering rack threads?

Just been making up my rack extensions today. I have made them m14x2.0 on ball joint end and drilled the other end but is the trackrod end m14x2.0 or is it finer?

What grade of steel are you using for your extensions? If it's too soft the threaded section will snap off.

Hi Mike,

The mk2 racks are metric M14 x 2mm, it is the mk1 racks that are imperial threads. They also want to be 125mm long.

I have used bright drawn steel is that strong enough? If not I'm sure I could get hold of some high tensile bolts from stores at work. I could then turn them down to size.

That will be fine Mike, Rally Design ones are a light alloy and they are fine.
