nut'n'bolt group buy?

Would any body be interested in a suspension nut and bolt group buy? I know this has been run twice before but I'm sure there are a few new builders that will be needing these soon. At this point I'm only looking for people to regesture their interest so if it falls short I don't end up with 1000's of parts that will take months to shift, although some will be put on ebay.
If want to add your name to the list reply with 'quote' edit this bit off and add your name.
Package will contain the following
2 x M12 X 260mm Bolts (Rear Uprights)
2 x M12 X 200mm Bolts (Diff Mounts)

6 x M12 X 60MM Bolts (Upper Rear and Front Shock Mounts)
30 x M12 Nyloc nuts (Type P - these are a bit thicker than normal nuts and better suited to suspension applications)
30 x M12 Plain full nuts (these are for test fitting components without ruining the Nyloc nuts)
60 x M12 Flat washers (Form A)

A2 STAINLESS OPTION REMOVED ON SAFTY GROUNDS

Price of the 8.8 BZP is £23.00 a set plus £8 P&P

mikemph 31st July 2011 11:30 PM

Plated is fine with me as they will be covered with caps... and stainless bolt threads tend to pick up and are scrap once that happens. We use lots of stainless components and fasteners on our steam turbines at work and I hate working with them lol.

Although a good coating of copperslip or aluminum spray does help alot.

K4KEV 1st August 2011 01:56 AM

hi Phil.....are you doing any for the sierra based build?

Deanno 1st August 2011 10:10 AM

I am intrested but i'll have to wait as the little one may be here sooner than expected.

would the ones on ebay be the same price?

voucht 1st August 2011 10:40 AM

Same as Deanno, I will be interested (8.8 plated steel), but not immediately, only when I'll get the wishbones and rear uprights, I hope in September.

gaz05 1st August 2011 11:06 AM

If this is for the sierra build then I'll have a set of the BZP.

Talonmotorsport 1st August 2011 03:03 PM

Right I'll remove the stainless option then as A4 stainless bolts are twice the price of A2  This is a group buy for the sierra built car how ever I will be using the same size suspension brackets and bush tubes as the current sierra set up as it just makes production easier. The sets sold on ebay will cost more as I will have to cover ebay charges.

Package will contain the following
24x M12x70mm bolts
2x M12x150 bolts
26x M12 plain nuts
26xM12 nylocs
46x washers
46x plastic IVA covers

will somebody please please explain where the similarities lie between these two lists....this one below being the the last 2 suspension group buys for a sierra donor

below is copied n pasted from group buy thread

I had started another thread for this yesterday in the hope that it would be migrated across but appears it hasn't. So I will start another one
I have taken over the group buy as Ronnie/Bonzo has chosen to take a break from the forum.
The kits will contain exactly what they did when Ronnie was running the group buy:
2 x M12 X 260mm Bolts (Rear Uprights)
2 x M12 X 200mm Bolts (Diff Mounts)
20x xM12 X 75mm Bolts (Wishbones, Rear Camber Adjuster, Lower Shock Mounts)
6 x M12 X 60MM Bolts (Upper Rear and Front Shock Mounts)
30 x M12 Nyloc nuts (Type P - these are a bit thicker than normal nuts and better suited to suspension applications)
30 x M12 Plain full nuts (these are for test fitting components without ruining the Nyloc nuts)
60 x M12 Flat washers (Form A)
60 x M12 Black plastic nut covers.

All bolts are 8.8 high tensile and bright zinc plated. All the nuts and washers are bright zinc plated too.
this is driving me bonkers ....whats what:mad:

Hi Kev

I would imagine that the latest group buy is a fixing kit for the wishbone fixing set only.

That said, the 2 M12 X 150mm bolts will be too short to mount the lower rear uprights in place ( I am sure that this is just a typo )

I did re-price a new full set group buy a couple of months back, even with the increased VAT rate I could still bring them in for about £27 ( Seems to be a lot of competition in the fixings market ) ;)

I did try to gauge any possible in a new group buy when the last one stalled but there was not a lot of interest + a little bit of negativity about plans to include some more essential fixings to produce a fuller kit for not a lot of extra money

Right I've now sorted my arse from my elbow as we would say down ere and it works out pretty much as per Ronnies original group buy. Each set is 8.8 BZP nuts and bolts and are from a quality supplier not the crap from screwfix.

Each set works out to be 23.00 each plus £8 P&P so £31 in total.

baz-r 1st August 2011 09:57 PM

im ok for bolts and stuff at the mo but the 7/16unf X4 would be a good addition :D

i also seen some 12.9 m8x20 round head with hex drive would be ideal for the roll bar mounts

K4KEV 1st August 2011 10:02 PM

Well now that we are where I thought you wanted to be... I'll just make sure I know where your elbow is for future reference:eek:
I knew what you meant Phil ....honest
now since I require a set of your most revered SIERRA SUSPENSION BOLT GROUP BUY SPECIAL.....I will add my name to the list
sorry for persisting with the interrogation but hell we got there:rolleyes:
