Rude not too
This was given to me for disposal on Saturday morning :)
1997 Escort GTI .... 1.8 115ps silvertop ( Cracking engine ) Gotta be worth saving for a spare .... All I got to do now is work out if the later PATS ecu can be used & worth saving !!?? |
You will make a few £££ from that in parts.
TT |
I expect that I will be able to shift quite a bit of stuff from that one Rob :)
On the face of it, not in bad nick but the Cornish tin rot has got to the underside  Good strong engine, pulls like a demon & is very quiet when running. I'll get Junior to strip the good stuff from it, I can then tow the rest to the breakers on the ole A frame & bring the wheels back with me ;) I have never been one to turn away a free motor .... Room in the drive for a Metro if anyone has one they don't want :D |
if its a proper gti it should be 130bhp shouldnt it?

Down on the V5 as a GTI & is fitted with all of the original GTI trimmings. Got a sneaky feeling that it was only the sporty Escort Cabriolets that were fitted with the 130 bhp lump. Pulls hell of a lot better than the 115 bhp lump that is currently fitted in my build   |
The standard GTi's only ever had the 115bhp zetec.
Nice car i wanted one once. |
Nice one Ronnie
Tho, I must say....that looks in better nick than alot of cars I,ve had , even when I bought em  :D Have fun watching Junior strip it;) cheers andy |
a lad i used to work with had one, i remember it being quicker than the normal 1800.
|
XR3i tin tops came with the 130 Lump at one point.
