Bike carb inlet tube lengths.

Hi all, Just got a set of GSXR 600 SRAD carbs off the bay of e. I am about to make the manifold and would like to know if there is happy medium length for the tube lengths, I have been reading a lot of articles and can't seem to find out the best length. Also, on the carbs the accelerator pump( i think!!) looks like it has a seperate cable, is this cable part of the throttle linkage cable on the bike.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Shaun.

Try to find some pics on the forum of one's running bike carbs, for my money I would be fairly close to the head to make the shortest straightest route for the fuel, ram pipe length plays a role in power at different ranges, factor in some manifold heating for the carbs or they may ice up.
