Plastic fuel tanks & IVA

Does anyone if one of these would get through IVA? Came across it while trawling ebay and thought it might be a decent enough?

Seems a pretty good deal really. I cant see it being a problem personally as lots of cars have plastic fuel tanks these days, i recall my renault 5 gt turbo had a plastic fuel tank and that was back in 1996 :eek:

IVA Section 03A Fuel tanks says the following.

Quote:

Plastic Fuel Tanks
2.
The vehicle must be accompanied by satisfactory evidence that the tank is designed for road use or the fuel tank is an original fitment to a mass produced vehicle, or has been previously and is un-modified
So assuming the seller can provide that information, you'll be fine.

Hmm it'd probly fail then as it's designed for boats by the look of it which most likely don't have to deal with the same levels of vibration.

What about this one from Talon;

Ya I did see that one but doubt it would fit with the grp rear tub. I could do with getting one that's tall but not very wide or deep.

Good price,Rally Design do fuel cells and you cant get one that size under £100

A robinhood/gbs one will fit in the area if you have a grp tub and ditch the two diagnals
A good amount of fuel and long and low.
Have a look on the bay. I made my own in alloy of very simular dimensions with a swirl pot built in and flogged off the cheap gbs one on I had.
There was a guy making new ones for gbs cars in alloy for 60 quid.

Kev's fuel tanks are top notch. Fillers returns where you want them and what size. Can't fault them!
