quick way to try engine?
 
hi
finally finished rebuilding my sierra engine. is there a way i can see if it works without wiring everything up.(esc)
only want to have a quick try. suspense is killing me.
not even started on car yet!

Nope, you'll need some engine management to run the spark, or its just going to crank over

Which engien is it, a quick wire up wont take long and if it's a carb then a thimble of fuel down the secondary butterfly will get it started.

do you have the engien sub loom with the ESC-Hybrid Module?

yes got all that but it is still with all rest of wiring loom. not seperated it

Ok, depending on the year ( most likly to be post 90 spec wiring ) there's either 3 multi plugs under the dash or three multiplugs behind the battery ( the later being the most common 90 spec )

I think we have established that not all three are used on the 1.8 CVH, but you should find 3 multimlugs bundled close to the battery feed wires. they are two oval 8 and 6 pin and 1 square 4 pin. AS I say, only two of these are probably connected to the engine loom.

Unplug the engien loom at this point.

When I get home I will reference the diagrams and let you know what wires need connecting to make it run. There's only one or two.
