What a nob i have been today

I have been doing my rear strut tops /roll bar mounting spent ages marking out for shock brackets then tacking the M8 Nuts and brackets...admiring all my nice work ...then fully welding the lot up and welding it to the chassis...all very good so had a wee fag and a cuppa....and aaaa ya nob i had used wishbone brackets !!!! tools out of the pram ...thats even after writing a note on my book saying SHOCK BRACKETS !!!

Just use packers to correct your little mishap. It could be worse you could have fully welded shock/damper brackets to the chassis tubing in the wrong place.

Doh! :D

As already said it will be fine to use packing, where the other end of the damper attaches to the upright needs packing anyway

You could get some proper ones turned on a lathe or just use appropriate sized washers

To late ...some delicate grinding and a 1mm slitting disc and the diddy bracket off... replaced with the proper one....now i need a single wishbone bracket !!

I know that pain only too well  I welded up all my rear wishbone brackets on my chassis, 25mm out, because I was using a drawing at work and leaving my book at home. I nearly cried when I realised. That took ages with grinders, air chisels and files to clean it all up and remake it.

Hello Andy,

We've have your address from your previous orders Andy so we have sent a replacement wishbone bracket 1st class so hopefully you shall have it tomorrow to continue with the build.

Plenty of people have made that mistake or welded the bracket on the wrong side of CP3/4. For the items you have ordered sofar don't worry about the cost. .....;)

All the Best.....AndyH
