Into the sand...!

Well, after barrelling into the whole 'build a car' thing with plenty of enthusiasm - albeit not masses of progress since July last year - everything has really hit the skids!

Last 6 months of work have been mental - now sorting themselves out but I am coming home knackered everyday - and barely keeping on top of the everyday household stuff.

On top of that we now have a little bundle of joy on the way - 8 weeks left to go - so making arrangments for that have been taking up some of my time. I suspect the real hard work on that one is yet to start though!

And between November and March the wife and I have sold the houses we had separately, and condensed all our stuff into one new (to us) house - which we gave a whirlwind re-decoration and makeshift tarting up before we moved in properly - but which needs an extension to fit the growing family and full renovation in just about every room...

No wonder i haven't got far with the car lately!!!

Congrats on the impending addition to your family

The joy about building a roadster is that it does not matter how long it takes to finish the build just dont give up

Good luck with the little one.

I couldn't agree more with the no rush comment, mine took five years to finish. Work, four house moves, there is always something else that has to be done first. Well worth persevering with though, nothing quite like the feeling of getting that IVA certificate.

Managed to grab a couple of hours last weekend and trim some metal (an old sign from our village pub :-D) into a rear bulkhead. Just trying to work out what it's best to use the big sign for, either the floor or the front bulkheads / transmission tunnel / etc...

Pics here! http://meandthekitcar.wordpress.com/

Nice. I'd use it for the floor a nice big piece like that. you can get away with smaller pieces of scavenged metal for the trans tunnel etc. I have some old filing cabinets and a 4m length of roofing metal to do my trans tunnel in. :D

Cheers

Filing cabinets - now there's an idea!

I'm wondering if i'll be better with the 'rice tread' stuff for the floor - the big sheet does seem a bit 'boing-y' if you know what I mean!
