I made a bracket that mounted on the rear of the sierra diff, worked well and never had a problem.
Would the filter not go after the pump and before the carbs

yes the filter would go just before the carbs that is what i thought just wasnt sure as the pump and the filter are on the same line but the complete line is only about 12" long but i do think you are correct motorbike pumps are made for pushing not for pulling
thanks again

I put my filter between the tank and pump as otherwise couldn't crud get into the pump and jam it up? I also put my pump at the back on the bottom rail at the back of the diff cage so to speak. Luckily my pump came with it's original bracket from the bike which fitted perfectly onto the 25x25 shs.
