Shock sizssize

Morning all

Want to get some shocks ordered, but just need to clarify 1 thing. Are they 1.9" or 2 1/4"?

This is what I was going to get

I've searched loads of times, but saw nothing conclusive. I'm building a book standard sierra based roadster.

Cheers Will

Hi I think it's 9" closed 14" open but the spring rates people have had 250 or 300 in the rear and 350 in front if I'm not mistaken

I used Gaz 14" Open, 9.5" Closed Length Coilover Shock
[140/095/B12] all round and
1.9", 350 Rate, 9" Free Length for the fronts and initially 250lb rate for the rears. The fronts are fine but with two up I have grounded a couple of times so this year have uprated to 300lb rears which seems to be fine.
All came from Rally design

Hi Ian what do you mean by 1.9" and 9" for the springs I know 350 is the rate

I reckon 9" is the spring length and 1.9" is the diameter (inner I guess, so you know it goes over the shock but it may be outer)...

A quick Google threw up this http://www.dfaulknersprings.com/acat...rd-Spring.html

Sorry for the slow reply , I've been away on hols. Yes 1.9" refers to the inner diameter and 9" is the length.
I did a 100 mile trip on very rough roads with just me in the car a few days ago and was wishing I had the 250lb springs back on the rear but I know that once I put a passenger in I would want the 300 lb springs back in. You can get rates between those so the choice is yours. I am just over 14 stone and my passengers are maybe a stone lighter so that may influence your choice.
The information regarding my springs and shocks was a copy and paste from my Rally Design invoice so it was the way they wrote it down, sorry if it confused.
