Oh noooo, I've been daydreaming about making my ally scuttle and bonnet for ages and the last thing I needed was more inspiration!

robj 1st June 2017 09:36 PM

bit more progress tonight got the rear shoes fitted.

also had a go at making an english wheel with left over steel at work. I've had a bit of a go with it but I'm going to need a fair bit of practice before trying some body work.

It's been a while since I've been on the forum but I've still been tinkering away, it must be the slowest build in history but anyway I thought I'd show you lot some of the work I've been doing on the roadster.

robj 5th January 2019 08:53 PM

And as she stands at the moment the body work still needs some refining but it's getting there.

I'm very quickly running out of room in the garage.

Wow, Not many people roll their own body! Hats off to you!

As for the longest build, doubt it. I have been going for 9 years and not touched it in 4!

Yes, your work is very impressive. The shop in the background of these latest photos hints at some involvement with sculpture, which would be a confidence builder. Even so, those clamshell shapes are a complex and sophisticated 3D shape, and your work looks excellent. They are quite an accomplishment.

Thought I'd start on the trans tunnel cover.

robj 10th May 2020 10:36 PM

Start off by making a foam pattern then moulding it.I then produced a wax from the mould and got it cast at work, then a lot of sanding later got the metalwork finished just need to make some gaiters the handbrake and gear lever.

robj 10th May 2020 10:39 PM

robj 10th May 2020 10:44 PM
