Small update its been a while since I've posted anything.
I did a bit of a re jig on my roll cage replaced the front hoop and added some side bars. I made a couple of seats just need to learn upholstery now. And managed to get the diff and wishbones fitted. |
I also made a new gear stick lever and knob. |
Oh noooo, I've been daydreaming about making my ally scuttle and bonnet for ages and the last thing I needed was more inspiration!
|
bit more progress tonight got the rear shoes fitted.
also had a go at making an english wheel with left over steel at work. I've had a bit of a go with it but I'm going to need a fair bit of practice before trying some body work. |
It's been a while since I've been on the forum but I've still been tinkering away, it must be the slowest build in history but anyway I thought I'd show you lot some of the work I've been doing on the roadster.
a few of the nose cone I've been working on. more to follow |
started to weld it together lot more work to do yet.
Also started an aero screen. |
Started some arches as well.
the rears under way. |
Started the fronts to. |
And as she stands at the moment the body work still needs some refining but it's getting there.
I'm very quickly running out of room in the garage. |
Wow, Not many people roll their own body! Hats off to you!
As for the longest build, doubt it. I have been going for 9 years and not touched it in 4! |
Yes, your work is very impressive. The shop in the background of these latest photos hints at some involvement with sculpture, which would be a confidence builder. Even so, those clamshell shapes are a complex and sophisticated 3D shape, and your work looks excellent. They are quite an accomplishment.

Thought I'd start on the trans tunnel cover.
|
Start off by making a foam pattern then moulding it.I then produced a wax from the mould and got it cast at work, then a lot of sanding later got the metalwork finished just need to make some gaiters the handbrake and gear lever. |
started to rough out the dash but still need to do some more work on that so will need to do another update when it's finished |
Started work on the inlet manifold as well, using a set of triumph speed four throttle bodies hope they work out ok I've spent a while putting these together. |
Some amazing work there, really true craftmanship.
