fitting the mushrooms

when fitting the mushrooms into the upright how tight have everyones been to fit? mine will hardly go in even with prizing the hole on the upright open and then some are suggesting to change the orientation of the hole to suit after iva but there's no way mine will be coming out or being moved if i can ever get them in.

cheers

If it has been turned to the correct specs then it should be a little tight but if it is too tight then use a drill type flap disc on the inside of the upright but only enough to make the mushy less tight or the mushy needs to be put into a lathe and a fraction turned off the main dia.....be very careful prizing the upright as with it being cast it will give no indication as to when it will break if over "prized"

Ask an adult to help, you will need the following:
Hack saw
Vice
pistol drill
75-100mm length of 10-12mm dowling
sand paper , corse emery cloth or old sanding belt

put the dowling in the vice standing upright and cut 1/2 down it, fold the sand paper or what ever you have to hand in half and stick it in the cut in the dowling, you now have a centrifugal upright rotary cleaner. Total cost feck all Tadaa... I'm here all week try the veal.

Cheers. I'll give it a go. If all fails might pop the mushrooms in the freezer before squeezing them in with a vice.
Does the orientation have to be precise as can be ?

The uprights are forged steel and should take s bit of opening out (would fail if cast)
Your hole needs to be clean and remove any burrs.
Mine fitted very snug
