Wheel sizes

Whats the smallest wheels that have been fitted to a roadster, i have seen some nice alloys from a mk escort 13" and quite good condition

You are limited to 15s on the Sierra, 13s will fit on a 1600 braked MX5 build.

with standard sierra type uprights most alloys have to be 15" or bigger.

You can get 13" on front uprights but there is a problem with the fabricated rear upright bottom bolt
You could engineer this problem out

Agreed, there probably is more than one way around this. But they mean custom rear uprights, wishbones or both.

14" steelies:

Ok I have been back on the bay and found two sets of refurbished wheels
1. Wolfrace 5 spoke 18" ET 40 7.5 J 4 stud £150
2. Cosworth style 15" ford fitting £160
can have them delivered for £25 but as they are not far from me I think if I have them I will collect and then I can inspect them before paying for them

any thoughts guys

I think 18" will give a harsh ride in a roadster with the low profile tyres you will need and the tyres are expensive, especially compared to the abundant 195-50-15s.
