1.8 cvh with mt75 gearbox

hi
im brand new to this so please be gentle.
just got myself a j plate sierra 1.8 cvh donor car which i think has mt75 gearbox.
just after a little advice. i plan to strip down and rebuild engine and have been looking for parts. managed to find gaskets etc but am struggling to find piston rings, main bearings and big end bearings. is there anyone out there who knows where to get them.
also will the mt75 gearbox do since other people seem to go on about type 9 box.
thanks for any help
steve.
ps does anyone know off any clubs. i live in northwest (wigan)

The 1.8 cvh was always fitted with a Type 9 gearbox. You can check this by popping it into reverse. Reverse on the Type 9 is upper left. On a MT75 its bottom right.

As for engine parts, you can contact Burtons who are usually very helpful. Or go to a Fords Garage and order the parts. They'll probably need a reg or VIN number to ensure they are the correct engine parts.
