Try to fix the edge by bonding, riveting something to the panel and attach to frame as the wind will get under it and eventually break it.

I think I would be tempted to preform some ally sheet to a "j"section then pop rivet to tub and tube or bolt to tub and pop to tube so as to make it removable if wanted

Hi,
I had the exact same problem, and I just sent a reply with pictures and links on LCB : http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/view...php?tid=200464 |
Ok, I post it here too:
I had the same problem (Haynes roadster, Equinox rear tube). Here is the solution I've found : an ally strip (in my case, bolted to the GRP rear tube and to rivnuts on the chassis round tube, as I made all my bodywork removable) 2014-06-22_18-03-17 by Sylvain ROIG, sur Flickr 2014-06-23_16-02-32 by Sylvain ROIG, sur Flickr 2014-06-23_16-20-03 by Sylvain ROIG, sur Flickr 2014-07-11_18-06-30 by Sylvain ROIG, sur Flickr More details and pictures on my blog: http://vouchtroadster.blogspot.se/20...r-tube-01.html Hope this will help Good luck! Thanks guys. I'm happy that I don't need to make any chassis / tub changes. A simple one piece ally floor can be added later to brace it all up and keep the wind out. I don't have a sump in my tank so there's nothing to stop me doing it this way :)
