edis?

Hello, was wondering if anyone could help I got my sierra based loom from premier last week and have been sussing it out. Do I still use my ford edis unit and crankshaft position sensor and if so how would this connect to the premier loom. I'm running a 1.8cvh on standard carb.

Many thanks

1.8CVH should be an ESC Hybrid not an EDS.

Unless premier have been asked to do anything special I would assume you will still be running the standard engine management setup, so yes the ESC-H will be needed and it's associated sensors (ECT, IAT, CPS)

I may be wrong but I thought most of the available looms aren't engine specific, mine isn't.

Check my build thread for a EDIS wiring diagram, it just needs a switched live from the loom.
THe crank sensor just goes straight to the edis?
Are you running bike carbs or the standard set up?

If you use the engine loom,

You can start the car with 3 wires..

1 to the coil +12V
1 to the black pin on the 8 pin multiplug
1 to the solenoid start wire..

The loom is specified as "sierra based" so I suppose its one size fits all.
You'll need to use part of the original engine loom which includes the hybrid engine management gizmo and cps etc. The instruction with the loom need a bit of re reading to make sense of but hey if I could do it then you will too.
NB earth your unit
